Assassin's Creed Introduces Bizarre AoT Event for Thanksgiving

In a surprising partnership that breaks conventional expectations, Ubisoft has announced an digital partnership between Assassin's Creed Shadows and the renowned anime series Attack on Titan. The unusual Thanksgiving event operates from November 25 through December 22, providing no-cost extra story content for Shadows players.

Peculiar Mission Revealed

According to the official release, "An unusual confrontation leads heroes Naoe and Yasuke into a new adventure, where hints of banned rituals and monstrous transformations resonate through the obscurity." The plot features a "oddly attired woman named Ada" who tasks the characters with journeying into the Gemstone Grotto—a significant location from Attack on Titan—to rescue her friend from a secret sect.

The mission centers on "bizarre trials and a monstrous adversary" and is open to all players who have gained access to the Yasuke character.

Recognizable Locations and Metamorphoses

The preview showcases the Underground Chapel from Attack on Titan redesigned as the Crystal Cave. This significant location was formerly where the Reiss royal family handed down the Founding Titan ability through eras. The preview concludes with a powerful moment showing a character, probably the captive, transforming into a Titan that looms over Naoe and Yasuke.

Unique Items and Additional Content

Players who accomplish the quest will receive an unique katana alongside multiple objects hidden throughout the area in hidden chests. The update also includes in-store Attack on Titan item packs, offering:

Third Free Story Content

This patch also introduces the game's third no-cost story episode, titled "A Puzzlement." This playful quest teams Naoe and Yasuke as they exchange characteristic abilities: Naoe reveals a theatrical version of Yasuke's war kick, while Yasuke learns non-fatal stealth takedowns. True to its name, "A Puzzlement" also includes a new environmental puzzle that may finally clarify some lingering questions from the main storyline.

This marks hardly the primary time the Assassin's Creed franchise has crossed over with well-known anime series.
